Off and Running

After leaving Kingsway in the wee hours of the morning, our team traveled to Newark and onto a direct flight to San Salvador, El Salvador. Greeted by members of the Kings Castle team, we took the two hour bus ride to the Kingsway Castle campground in the beautiful region of Lake Coatepeque.

We were served lunch and then jumped right into training. Our team will be involved in "spectacle evangelism" in the schools and neighborhoods around the lake, so we have to learn the dances and dramas that will create the "spectacle" that draws the crowds.

Saturday night we trekked up to the Prayer Fortress. For those who don't know, there is someone praying at the prayer fortress 24 hours a day, seven days a week - and, it's been that way since 1998. It's a special time of personal and team prayer in preparation for the ministry week ahead.

Today, we attended the "Tent Church" in San Salvador, watched the World Cup at Missionary Don & Terri Triplett's home, shopped at the market and then, headed back to the campground for some swimming. A few of us (see picture below) even jumped off of the high swing - go Adriana!

Tomorrow, we'll be painting in Pastor Julio's church.

Enjoy these glimpses into our activities so far. Keep praying! And, feel free to post comments. We love hearing from home!
